Pros

Pension and ability to leave every day at 5pm.

Cons

Attended a town hall and CEO was so uncomfortable, fake smile no genuine comments just prepared script. The office decor is atrocious. Out of date would be an understatement. No diversity at all.

Very silo oriented company.

Pros

Good people who do the right thing. Mutual company, do not tied to quarterly earnings pressure. Hiring people from outside to give new breath and direction. Changing for the better, but slowly.

Cons

Embarrassingly inefficient. Was a sleepy little mutual company until a few years ago and still has that mind set. Many acquisitions with legacy systems that don't work together. Mindset is more "not my job" versus "let's get it done". If you come from a Met, Hartford, Unum type organization, I would think twice.
