Pros

Great Products, technology, and planning tools. LBS is unmatched in the industry really. Planning philosophy is tough to argue against. Excellent learning opportunities. Unlimited earning potential.

Cons

Poverty for the first 4-5 years. If you don't sell, then you don't eat. Don't get talked into the draw being a salary, it's 100% commission, the whole time. Starting a business from the ground up. Complete reliance on others (those whom you sell to) for compensation.

Pros

Nice People, defined benefits pension plan, 401(k), bonuses, annual merit increases. State of the art systems living side by side with ancient systems.

Cons

To quick to lay people off. Not enough staff to do the work (due mostly to layoffs). Benefits for new hires not comparable to benefits for old-timers.
