Pros

- The people. You get to work bright and like-minded colleagues from all over the world on a daily basis. Atmosphere (especially within the teams) is very good, lots of fun events - especially as the office grows. - Variety. You get a glimpse into every industry by working on several new projects per day and get a great understanding of how business works. A bonus is the close interaction with clients in Consulting, Private Equity, etc. which provides further deeper understanding of the finance world. - Networking. You get to interact with lots of bright minds, both on client and expert side. If you play your cards right, when you leave Guidepoint you should have bonded with a number of people inside and out that can play a bigger role in your future career. - Compensation. Very fair for Greece, especially for good performers after 1-2 years in the company.

Cons

- Repetitiveness. Despite the variety of industries, especially as an Associate after a while you start to feel like the approach is very similar on many projects. This means all Associates are keen on getting promoted, since this gets a lot better as a Project Manager. - Limited hard skill requirements. The job (in Client Service) focuses a lot on communication, client management, people management, sales overall, and quick & efficient research. This also means that there isn't a lot of room to specialize into one's study area.
