      Good people are leaving the company

      Pros

      The business is doing very well and the company has many satisfied customers. People care about their job and making real contribution to make Guidewire's products the best in the market. Coworkers are exceptionally friendly and willing to help each other.

      Cons

      In the past two years the company grew in very fast speed, the small company characters have disappeared. The organization is not flat anymore. The management has no training or vision. There is no management culture and principles. On the surface the company has core values but the values are not followed. The middle managements formed a alliance that has all the political posturing that you can see in a big company and the interview process is controlled by that group.

      Pros

      Great moral compass. Hires the very best (excluding me) people in the industry. Extremely customer focused. Always tries to do the right thing for customers and employees. Compensation is comparable to the industry, not high, not low. Open conversations with senior management who listen. Great products and technology. Consistent investment in improving the products and company. Great culture. Never hear people grumbling or complaining about the way they were treated.

      Cons

      No company is perfect. This one comes close. Very smart people can sometimes be unreceptive to competing ideas. Need to be more inclusive with the people in the trenches when setting product priorities.

      A fantastic collection of high-quality people Everyone is empowered to provide input and make a difference Strong commitment to being fundamentally sound - from building quality software to successfully implementing it. Customer success is paramount!

      Cons

      Management has a strong skillset, but seems to lack experience Work environment can get a little hectic... as is the case with a growing company!
