Pros

Guidewire employs great people, we build great enterprise software systems that solve real-world business problems. We have a strong management team and a focused corporate vision, and most importantly, we have lots of happy customers. It's a marketing person's dream.

Cons

If I had to pick a negative about working at Guidewire (and I do to get my comments to display at all), It's that hiring in some non-engineering areas has lagged a bit behind service demands. Good news is that there is lots of targeted hiring underway, in engineering and elsewhere.

Pros

Open commuication style of management. Clear, concise messages from managment. Work is very challenging and interesting (optimal company size and growth). Collegiate company culture. Great co-workers and leadership. Smart and open environment. Pride in Product integrity and Customer Success. Good work-life balance. Fun atmosphere. Overall a great place to work!

Cons

I commute a distance to get here...but it is worth the effort. I love San Mateo.

Pros

The technology is awsome. Their proprietary development system for large-scale enterprise applications is the best I've ever seen in 20 years of enteprise development systems. The quality level of the software is awsome -- it has a built-in test harness that lets QA run thousands of regression tests on every code check-in. What I like best is that management is not driven by closing deails and corrupting the software with odd one-off features. They are building the software and the company for the long term.

Cons

It's privately held, so there is no ESPP program.
