      Very Entry level job for Musicians

      Pros

      Gear Discounts, Networking, fun be around music all day.

      Cons

      Pay is low, can't make decent living here.! Commision plan is weak, very difficult to build a career working on the retail side of this organization. Pay structure changed 3 times while i was there, touted to be better for sales reps, was not. Managers compete with sales reps on the sales floor for commisions. Management constantly abuses the "do more with less" edict that became pervasive after the recession kicked in.

      Pros

      Laid back environment, decent co-workers, and a company that has a well established history with vendors. It will be around for a while and you will always get a check. It is a job that really has potential for those who really want to be in the industry.

      Cons

      Pay is not great starting out. Depending on the location your pay will change (it is a commissionable job after all.) It really doesn't have a lot of prestige, so if excelling in the business world and making it to middle management or above is where you want to be, then there is no real fast track to that end.

      Great part-time job for a musician in their early 20s, not a career

      - Awesome people, both co-workers and customers (for the most part) - Flexible work hours - Discounts on gear - Freebies that add up (ex. tons of amazing free software for pro audio sales associates)

      Cons

      - Management is stressed - Gear could be in better shape - Smaller stores don't have as great of a selection
