Pros

Refuel A handful of really talented individuals (external experience)

Cons

Senior leadership. Some really inexperienced people making serious decisions but they’re just Ben’s friends. Brand function has a lot to answer for; there is absolutely no accountability from chief level down. No real succession planning, progression is based on who you know and who you’re friendly with. External experience is not valued here at all. Performance culture is banded around but those at the top still don’t really understand it or know how to embed it… Salary is shocking and work/life balance is even worse. Would not recommend right now. Needs to do a lot more growing up and a proper shake up of leadership.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. Feedback is the first step towards improvement, so we really appreciate your honesty. To start, we would like to apologise that we couldn't have made your time working at Gymshark a more positive experience! As the business grows and changes every day, finding the right balance between being right, ready, and qualified for positions is, of course, challenging, but we are confident heading into the future. Our new business plan has a particular focus around performance culture, which we believe will help provide our employees with the right tools to support their personal and professional growth. However, we are always looking for ways to better ourselves, so if there is anything more you feel that we could learn from your experience, please feel free to speak to one of our representatives at glassdoorresponses@gymshark.com. Thank you!

Pros

Lifting Club. Nice (empty) Offices.

Cons

- Chiefs and Directors force values down your throat but don't seem to live by them themselves. - They say pay is in the top bracket for the UK but it most definitely is not. - Employees who show loyalty and who have worked there since the beginning are forgotten and shiny new employees from Nike etc are adored. - 'Work Hard Stay Humble' yet some Chiefs do nothing but flex. - Some very big toxic egos at the top. If you challenge them you wont last long. - It used to have a great family feel but now nobody knows each other.

We appreciate your honesty and the time you have taken to leave this review. We understand things haven't been perfect here recently, however, we would be grateful if you could discuss your experience with our People team as this will help us improve for the future. We stand by Gymshark's core values and we are confident that our new business plan will see these values cascaded across the business. It would also be great to see you attend one of our Pay and Perks Ask Me Anything sessions (AMA's) so we can collectively work together to find a solution.

Pros

Some great friends made, trusted to do your job well, good benefits. Flexi time, great work/life balance. Young, growing and fun.

Cons

The idea that there is no hierarchy and there’s an “open door policy” is pushed upon you but it’s simply not true. There’s a circle of people who have got where they are not based on talent, but who they know, and this trickles down and causes bad morale. Opportunities for progression are slim to none unless you’re well liked by the right people (favouritism at play massively when it comes to promotions). Atmosphere used to be great but has soured over time. Feels like a school environment. Good place to be if you’re young and to get a known brand on your CV, but that’s where it ends.
