Pros

- Beautiful environment. You can’t ask for much more regarding facilities, it’s truly all state of the art. Those that moan that the offices are empty are generally the ones sat at home not willing to come in. They’re the same that moan that there’s no clarity and that the culture has changed. - Free lunch, lovely barista, and the ability to cater for the masses. Incredibly convenient and the refuel team are just the best for what they do for us. - Arguably the best gym facilities in the country. The LC is probably one of the most under-looked benefits. Especially considering those that have left the business still dine out in using it (whilst complaining about Gymshark whilst they’re there). - Despite the noise of late, there are some truly wonderful people here. A small (really small) handful of leaders are outstanding and don’t get the credit they deserve. Ours is young, and under a lot of scrutiny, but has put their hands up and taken true responsibility of late. Good leadership as well as relinquishing control, and has hired good people. - The best business to work for in the UK, you’ve got a guaranteed pathway in your future career.

Cons

- Created an environment where we only saw success for X amount of years. Where there’s been some downturn of late, we don’t have the resilience (in certain areas) as an organisation to deal with it. - Our function work incredibly hard, but it isn’t consistent across other areas. Naturally our team should feel more pressure (due to the nature of the work), I wouldn’t expect complete parity, but it’s wildly disproportionate and needs to level out. - Feels like management struggle to make decisions and stick with them. It’s ok not to have a perfectly clear ‘10 year strategy’, and the business need to accept that retail is volatile, but having clarity for 3, 6, 12 months would be beneficial so we can plan better. It’s also ok to put our hands up and say, we got that wrong, or we’re going to change direction. - The business is simply too big, we don’t need the number of employees, functions and organisational complexity. Simplify it. - There is a boys club, but it’s not where it once was, it now sits across the individuals that don’t actually have that much responsibility anymore, but are still here because they’re liked by leadership.

Pros

Good balance Some good executives Recognized need for change with fast growth Good vacation policy Good pay overall

Cons

Company grew fast - lots of issues come with this at any company. Opened a new US office without a plan Some of the legacy executives in the UK don’t really have experience to be running this company Some people care more about brand where people are coming from (like Nike) than relevant experience

Pros

- Great office's - Great gym - Great food - Most employee's are great to work with and know what they are doing.

Cons

- Some Head Of / Managers are only in that position because the 'business grew' and don't have the experience to be at that level. - Salaries are no where near market rate. This is subsidised by 'Employee Benefits' but they are not that good if you don't live close to the office. - Expected to work 12+ hours days during busy sale periods. - Not a great place to work if you want a career, I was there for just under 4 years and never had a development plan / career growth opportunities. - My advice is to get it on the CV and leave after 12 months.

Hey, thank you for your honest review. We really appreciate it! We do recognise that more could have been done in the past to support employees with their career plans. However, we have now developed a Performance Culture plan for all employees so they are able to focus on their progression. Having said that, if you feel as though we could learn more from your experience, please reach out to one of our representatives and together we can work on making Gymshark an even better place to work for our current employees.
