Contrary to what most believe, HEB is a very typically run corporate retail store. Many times I have found suitable candidates for a roll, but when management is asked about these potential candidates, they have told me that they only put up the job listing for external purposes, and that they never wanted to hire anybody in the first place. Another thing that I did not like at all, is the blatant lying on job posts. As a recruiter I did not have the power to design my own job postings, but they would put down a role as part time for example but would then tell me that they only wanted full timers and so I had to interview candidates that came in for part time rules but we’re told that a full-time role was available. There are also many other things that HEB did that I found very shady, but I feel like I’ve given enough of an example of how working at HEB was. Due to this, and a host of other factors, I eventually put in my two weeks for HEB. I would absolutely not recommend working at HEB.

Bad leadership that don't care about partners. Inexperience leadership. Lots of cutthroat activity. Lying and deceitful leadership. If you don't co-sign with management's wrongdoing your name is put on a black-ball list and the leadership then project their cunning acts on you as if you are wrong. Don't speak up of any wrong you experienced or witness, leadership blames you. No accountability. Policies and procedures are not enforced. Overall, not a good environment if you loved and want to grow the industry.
