BIG JOKE

Pros

I could not think of anything good rather than they are in partnership with Microsoft 90% almost. Which I get to have some of their vendor benefits, ie. Shuttle, Cafeteria, Great environment etc. Take not I'm saying positive things about their partner, not HCL.

Cons

This company won't save you from the new 18th month vendor rule at Microsoft. Work Life Balance is a BIG JOKE, majority of the projects here need to take calls from India EVERY NIGHT. Managers doesn't care about your career growth, they just want you to do their job and will take hundreds of follow ups to accept the approval of incentives which is VERY SMALL.

Horrible company

Pros

The only pros for working at HCL is the supposed flexible work week which I will detail more in the cons. Benefits are reasonable cost wise, but getting support from HR or accounting is like pulling teeth. I have heard for all the employees nationwide in the US there are only 2 HR representatives.

Cons

You are awarded no sick time, but the "flexible work week" is used as an excuse for this and if you need to be off you supposedly take the day and then work it out in the rest of the week. HCL feels that the flexible work week washes out with working extra hours and taking time off, however there is no reasonable tool available to track your time. In the event you are actually able to get "Overtime" pay for hours worked over 40, it will be pennies on the dollar for your actual hourly rate.No one ever acquires more than 2 weeks of vacation regardless of tenure.

It just gets worse

Pros

Job security as they usually won't even fire morons that are being overpaid that know little to nothing ,and cause outages due to their incompetence.

Cons

Having one HR rep for thousands of employees. Only way to get anything taken care of is to complain to the HR bosses boss. In America will pay L1 Indians more than they willing to pay their L3+ Admins. No work life balance what so ever as you will get called all hours of any day for something that could wait till the next business day. They will want you to drop everything you are doing for some report they suddenly want, and then complain when other work you had to drop for it was not done. Have gone through so much turn over in management. Lied to by management on pay issues. Have managers that force you to work OT, and then tell you that you cannot enter the OT on timesheet. Instead they tell you to take "comp time". If you have any issues good luck as most the people who can fix issues are in India, and it will take months to get simple things resolved. Vacation time is pitiful. 10 days a year no matter how long you been with company. Good luck taking vacation days without being called and expected to work during it too. If you are lucky enough to get a raise it won't be much. Even top performing employees get screwed over since all reviews are done on a bell curve.
