Pros

stable employment even in crisis situation visionary CEO and some good top executives

Cons

A body shop that has zero interest in the employee and employees well being CEO talks about "employee first" "disruptive" "transformer" but no one at the ground level implements it...all are just interested in billing..forget value creation HR and Admin behave like they are doing a favor by letting the employee work in USA Worst compensation in USA Benefits are bare minimum (as req by law) and lowest possible Works like Indian government, a lot of red tape for everything Kingdoms run by "General" Managers who do not add any value, they just walk around showing their influence and power

Pros

They meet their legal obligations to pay you for your time.

Cons

Horrible communication. Awful onboarding experience. Incompetent leadership at every level. Recruiters will promise schedules and responsibilities that will be changed without warning regardless of your need. You will be a cog in a machine that does not care for the people in it, and you will be expected to follow orders without complaint and without question. At no point will what you bring to the team matter- not in job assignment, not in communication with management, never. They will make contracts they cannot keep and then work you to exhaustion to put up the pretense of trying to meet obligations. They will blame EVERYTHING and EVERYONE else (including their clients and their own leadership) for their many many failures, but will do nothing of value to correct for those failures. If you were in an IT support role, the users you support will suffer greatly. My supervisor literally needed me to train her on how to micromanage the people on her team, and even then she couldn’t do it. She even admitted to me when I quit that she was incompetent. I wish I was joking.

Pros

Work experience for the resume, literally it.

Cons

HCL did a crack job deleting my last review so I'm back again to re-emphasize that HCL America (not to be confused with HCL as a whole) is a failure of the imagination. Regardless, whatever account you're working on, at some point India is going to get involved and micromanage it until they've pushed everyone off the account and rotated out until they're fully overseas. HCL does not want to do business in America and has no interest in the professional development or growth of US-based employees. You owe it to yourself to pursue employment elsewhere, this company will mentally and physically drain you until you quit or are otherwise forced to lay you off.
