Pros

There is plenty of work.

Cons

HCL signed a poorly negotiated contract with Verizon Wireless. We had to fight for every little thing. All of the HCL Verizon techs needed a console cable, thumb drive, and tool kit. HCL and Verizon had to negotiate this. It wasn't in the original contract. We also complained about building access and systems access. I couldn't reset a user's password. I was told during training that I would be driving my car to Verizon stores to fix their gear which wasn't mentioned by the 3rd party recruiter when they hired me. I don't drive my car for my employers. I would have thought twice about taking the job if I had been told that I was going to have to drive my car. Some of my co-workers were driving several hours to get to stores.

Pros

There’s a five word minimum so I’m forced to write something, but there are really no Pros to speak of. If you’re a recent and desperate grad, you can use this company as a springboard. Otherwise, run for the hills.

Cons

- very low pay relative to industry - toxic offshore management - little possibility for advancement - no possibility of raises - very little diversity - Nonexistent support from HR - unethical and illegal practices (refusing to pay people for months at a time until the DoL gets involved, lying to people about how much they will be compensated, etc. - offshore management does not understand that people specialize in specific areas, even going to school to become experts in one field. This is reflected in the ways they assign work, compensate people, and even outsource jobs.
