Pros

Salary here is decent but still slightly below national average. The bar is set low here so you can perform at your lowest and it will actually be good enough for them. Great for lazy people!

Cons

This company is run by an 83 year old man and it shows - everything here is archaic. It's an old boys club - everyone has been here 20 plus years and insist on running things the way they did 20 years ago. Unfortunately they are not very open to change. If you are well liked by the folks at the top, then you get to join the club - but that's only if those at the top know you exist. Senior managers and directors do not want their team to have any visibility to those at the top. Ever. Yet your raises and promotions are decided by the very people who don't know your name. Everything is poorly organized and there is no effort by anyone to improve things. I'm very surprised by the lack of communication, experience and professionalism around here. There is no town hall to communicate to staff what is going on as an organization. There aren't any objectives that people work towards. People just show up to work doing what they've been doing for the last 20 years and that is more than good enough. Decisions are made behind closed doors and there is no rhyme or reason for why they do what they do. It seems that decisions are made more on feelings rather than numbers. For example the president wants to keep producing x product because he likes it. It doesn't matter if the product is being produced at a loss to the company or if it's something that is not positively impacting the bottom line. You cannot expect to grow and develop professionally when you are working under people who don't know what they are doing. If you are ok with a non challenging environment where people do things on the fly without any proper rationale, then this is the place for you. If you want to learn and grow, this place isn't it.

Pros

High Salary, frequent opportunities for promotion company wide. CEO is very kind, makes an annual trip to each and every plant to visit employees and literally shake everyone' s hand.

Cons

Lack of training throughout, frequently ignore quality guidelines to push out more orders, Management rules by fear and does not respect the employees. Us vs them mentality not addressed.

Pros

Days off during the week.. and 3 day weekends (every other one).. Supervisor's will work with you..Benefits package..Bonus's pay and profit sharing..50hr weeks and 37Hr weeks..Can use 2 vac days to get a week off during a short week. Lots of OT available. Paid breaks. Uniforms are maintained by a contractor. vouchers for safety gear including boots and eye protection. Can move to other departments once your foot is in the door.

Cons

12 hour shifts, lots of walking, Upper management is a little disconnected from the tech's and their managers. Will propose new methods of testing without consulting anyone who has to do the work. Frequent Overtime..Mandatory overtime to cover the other shift. Can't plan for weekends off unless you schedule a vacation day to have off..Paid time off is accrued on a 8hr basis while our plant is the only one who works 12 hr shifts.. Same goes for holiday pay and other incentives..Paid sick days are given but are still counted as occurrences and will cause termination if you use your 5 sick days.
