Open, tolerant and friendly place to work. If you have a good work ethic and are good at what you do, you can progress. You must be a team player.

Great company, ineffective middle management

Pros

Hachette really values it's employees, the benefits are great though roles often pay the lower end of market ranges so on balance with the modern working environment it's a great company. Large enough to do stuff, small enough to care.

Cons

In certain areas, middle management lack direction and conviction. IT specifically is led by big ticket items based on PR rather then ROI. The business demand a closer working relationship that is fostered by the management.

Extremely stressful

Pros

Great social life, brilliant people, amazing, modern office with beautiful rooftop garden. Lots of parties and events and different opportunities.

Cons

Extremely stressful, everyone is stressed and overworked so office sometimes has unpleasant atmosphere. Staff expected to work long hours, workload much too high for such moderate pay.
