Pros

Zero. Overworked, underpaid. Knowledge required does not match wages.

Cons

Management on a corporate level WILL NOT HAVE YOUR BACK. If a customer makes an accusation. They will side with the customer and terminate you. It is full of gossip, bad feeling, and judgmental narcissists.

Pros

The Flagship store is an amazing place , with amazing stuff coming in and out and some good people , it should be great but...

Cons

Management - zero regard for health and safety of employees - bought new carts to pull buys up the ramp to the buy counter and they weren't suitable for the job , didn't turn the corner without being pushed and pulled into position - 3 big loads on the new cart and your arms would start going numb , junior management yelled at employees who complained , senior management said they fix it and never did anything. Managers tried to conduct private investigations into people taking FMLA leave and refused to grant it for a number of people dealing with bereavement./ family issues. Managers do next to nothing all day , internet shopping and yelling at people who ask questions , also tend to panic and hide when the store gets busy. Hiring is strictly nepotistic , friends and partners get hired first. Bullying by certain mangers is endemic. Response to racism by customers , fellow employees - non existent Response to sexual harassment by customers / employees - non existent. If you get hurt on the job , the managers have no idea what the policies are and couldn't tell employees which urgent care to attend. The owner has basically given up on the company and is now running a hardware store , which is good because she would try and make us sell water-damaged books to people. Management give zero regard to anything their employees do in order to sell books , they have an early morning shift literally just shove books into any available space and then the regular employee will be criticized for them being in the wrong place. Assistant managers who are supposed to be in charge of sections never even set foot in them - i saw my manager physically in my section twice in 3 years.

Hourly raises insignificant and hard to get Micromanaged and condescended to on a daily basis Little room for independent thinking Hard to keep up with constant influx of products bought from the public
