Pros

Great coworkers, fun environment, seemed like everyone got along and cared. Benefits if you aren't a temp so I don't know a lot about those but they had them. You can move around to different things throughout the store during your shift. Manager was great and they always helped when you needed it especially with difficult customers.

Cons

Honestly I'm not sure, it was great I thought.

Pros

Very good company culture: These are nice people. Thorough training, plus good benefits. Will help you succeed at your job, and you get great discounts! So if you love books, CDs, movies, etc., this is a wonderful place to work. Also, they indicated moving up in the company was doable, and I heard about examples from the other employees.

Cons

The pay was really low, about $9.50 an hour. No way to make a living on that unless you're a college student getting loans and scholarships, a teacher working in the summer or have a partner who has a well paying job, so yours doesn't have to be or sharing an apartment with a lot of roommates. Reluctantly quit to find a job that would pay my bills after realizing how much I would have to tap into my savings to survive. Knew the pay was low going in, but thought I could make it work with side jobs. Found out the job is pretty demanding physically -- on your feet all day, carting around boxes of books, etc. No energy left for side jobs. I knew other people who were working a couple of jobs to make ends meet, but working 50 to 60 hours a week for low pay is really no way to live.
