Pros

I posted a review over two years ago, and this is just an update since I am still working here. I still absolutely love my job. The people are work with are generally people I get along with most of the time. I have made some friends, and also some enemies... I wish that weren't the case but sometimes when you work around some people for a long period of time, they can either rub you right, or rub you wrong. The customers are usually nice and interesting people. We hardly ever have to deal with problem customers. The benefits totally rock, and the the 401k plan is really good. I have managed to save more money through this company then with a lot of other companies. I love getting my discount and I love seeing the new merchandise come in before any of the customers do.

Cons

Well, I hate to say it, but Senior management can at times seem really disconnected from the stores. We will be doing great, our numbers are through the roof, and they will come in and change things around without even thinking about that. That is really distracting, especially when I am working on some kind of display, because I never know when they are going to walk through the door and tell me to take it down. And they will pick on little things, like once a district manager was in the store and started complaining about the paper towel dispenser in the bathroom saying that we were going to be losing so much money because of it simply because the dispenser didn't have a set amount it spit out, the customers could use as much of the paper towel as they wanted. Really? That seems like a really dumb thing to want to save money on, considering our store totally rocks and our profits are through the roof, and we are beating the socks off all the other stores in our district. It seems like they don't spend enough time in those stores, why mess with our paper towel dispenser??? Anyway, other then Senior Management, I don't have any other complaints...

Pros

The merchandise discount. Pick of new stuff filtering through. The other grunts in the trenches with you are good people and they did throw the best parties on Earth.

Cons

Seven dollars an hour for a physically demanding job in a workplace where you stand all day feeding the money monster. The profit margins are obscene and you watch the coffers swell while barely able to buy groceries. Seeing disenfranchised peoples' passions being preyed upon and exploited.
