      Lacks vision, but fortunately, inherited a cash machine

      Pros

      Job security. Halozyme has a product that has good demand and will generate good revenues for the next few years. I think salaries can be higher than the standard in this area. I think this is the only way to get people to come here and to try and get some of them to stay.

      Cons

      Managers are not help accountable in any way, either for their own performance, or to their support (or lack thereof) for their employees. If you get stuck with a bad manager (and there are a few of them), nobody cares. There is no vision or strategy, both because the leadership can't provide it, and because the business does not need it, as it basically runs on its own.

      New manager didn’t respect experience and lied on review and work contacts There was age and sexual orientation discrimination - was let go as a senior citizen and coming out as gay Could have gotten a lawyer, but not worth the fight even though I had all the evidence to support my side.

      Solid colleagues. Decent systems. Too many people looking for something to do - xbut the work is honest and important.

      Cons

      Agtoo many primadonna lookibg for ways to take credit and deflect responsibility every day. Thebait never smelled sweeter that the last time out of those mold-infested gressive Angry spiteful sr mgmt spen a a lot of time throwing colleaguesu under the bus. It requires that you spend 40% of your time managing the pathological behaviors with the rest for doing something productive. Bad deal.
