Corporation at its Worst

Pros

Benefits are comparible to other companies in the same industry. Company is growing rather than shrnking. Possibility to relocate to other branches. As much office supplies and toilet paper as you can steal since those things arn't a part of "annual inventory" there is no monitoring of them.

Cons

Whew, where do i begin. Automatically you will be paid less for doing the same thing as you would at any other company. Mostly people who work at Hanger Clinic are people who are trapped there by lack of competitors, family obligations, or in many cases a No Compete slave contract where your not legally allowed to leave. Even after all that, the employee turnover rate is abismal. The company even goes as far as to threaten that if you leave the womb of hanger, the company you go to will just be bought up by them in a few years so you might as well just stay or face retaliation later when the smaller company you fled to is gobbled up. Also if enough employees leave hanger and go to the same competitor hanger will sue that competitor until it goes under. Hanger can literally do anything it wants since its more than 10 times the size of the next few competitors down. In america that gives them special rights under the law to sort of well, get away with stuff. The only way to be paid fairly is to get into a management position, which there is an excess of. However, the only way to get into a management role is to be a manager of a smaller company and get bought up, or be related to the current manager above that position. In some lucky cases you can even sleep your way into a management position, but jesus, most of the managers are morbidly hideous people, so i wouldn't recommend it. There is virtually no pay raises. You can get a 1 or 2 percent raise a year, but that will not cover cost of living increases or really even your health care increases. The company claims to have a "Bonus" system, but as far as i can tell you either have to be a manager or be related to a manager to ever see it. You will be asked to work rediculous hours, rediculously hard, for rediculously low pay. Hanger Clinic is the Walmart of Orthotics and Prosthetics.
