Pros

Not many pros. The pay is Ok and insurance is great. Time off for full time is great after many years of service. Now they are claiming restructuring is why they are laying off those employees that have the highest pay and most years. I see a reduction in payroll. Now they hit Hannaford corporate next will be to get the long time employees at the retail level. Many jobs have moved down south. Many jobs will begin to appear up north. So the pro will be jobs made available at the expense of the long time employees.

Cons

My theory is Delhaize needs to get out from under the billion dollar cost of Hannaford,Sweetbay and other stores. A new Belgian law on Corporate governance in 2010 states ( here is a portion ) reduce penalties for Directors acting in a good faith who find themselves unintentionally involved in bankruptcy. Why would a company move all offices to a program that lacks in productivity...Hannaford corporate to the south... with little or no training. Change the successful warehouse system to an unsuccessful and confusing system.Take away incentives to truck drivers. Why would you reduce your fast movers in the stores , only to anger your customers. Change ordering of fresh produce to the south and have out of season product sit on the warehouse until it rots. Reduce the inventory in all stores so the consumers have a hit or miss chance of finding the items they want. Reduce help in every store so associates have no chance to obey standard practice or complete any job to the fullest. We still have to make the customers #1 and our other responsibilities suffer. Cut payroll by letting go of the long term associates and hiring new associates and giving them the bare minimum of training. With all of this in mind any company would fail. Why fail go bankrupt.
