Pros

Okay time off policy. Middle Managers are good for the most part.

Cons

Upper management is on their own agenda. It's all about self promotion to them. In one word its all about politics. They don't involve all of the subject matter experts before making decisions. This results in poor decision making and has impacted the bottom line and employee morale. They have abanded many of the programs which made them sucessful and a leader in the industry. Since Delhaize purchased them the main focus has become the bottom line and this has impacted the quality of their products and the ability to attract and retain talented associates. They continue to "take away" benefits and incentives and do so in the name of "job security" or " Company profitability". They do this all the while increasing Top Executives compensation.

Pros

Fellow employees are great, overall store management is adequate, given a chance to learn and use a lot of new systems.

Cons

A disconnect with corporate that seems to get bigger and bigger each year, all those new systems we have learned have glitches that they won't acknowledge, the RMT program takes the lead over developing seasoned veterans, health insurance that changes each year and sever favoritism shown for associates and managers

Pros

Offers affordable benefits to full time associates.

Cons

Management in the store,as well as the DM and corporate staff, who visit. Rarely make eye contact with associates, let alone ask questions. It is as if we are invisible at our stations. An occasional "how are you"? if you speak first.Followed by a quick dash away, because they really do not care.It takes years to be properly trained because they throw to much at new associates and then ammend the rules at whim.Training is sporatic and unless you are lucky enough to have a mentor.Your advancement (should you care to) is neglected.Your supervisors are too busy trying to keep their own rumps out of the corporate fire.Lots of disciplinary action for minor infractions and the only perk is "associate of the month " wear your jeans day or some pizza. How about extra money for all the extra work?
