Thank you for your feedback. Your comments are a little contradictory so I hope to address the themes you raised adequately. Our entry level salaries are on par with other sales roles. We benchmark them each year against our competitors to ensure parity. Our sales bonuses for all roles are lucrative and uncapped allowing high performers to earn very well. Promotions are based on demonstrating proficiency and mastery of a current role and for sales roles that means consistent performance against goal. It might appear that these individuals are treated more favorably when in fact they are putting in a lot of effort to achieve their goals. Again, thank you for sharing your experiences.

Pros

Great first job out of college due to the young and fun culture. You can move to a new city with no friends and have no concerns because you will make friends at Hanover. You will bond over your shared misery and stress. Frequent happy hours and social bonding outside of work to relieve said stress and continue to bond over your shared misery. Incentives for time off. There are some genuine good souls at Hanover who care about your success and will notice actions and skills you think go unnoticed. Easy to have faith in the product and see tangible results from the research done by the company. Certainly a character builder.

Cons

Growth is only in the sales sector. Low starting salary. Sales goals are not adjusted to reflect current market conditions except for around the holidays. Work/life balance is poor; it is frowned upon to leave on time and to take your full lunch hour if your performance is not up to par. High pressure environment which never ceases. Employees can be cliquey in an immature high school or college way. Your boss may or may not be interested in being a manager and likely has little to no training in managerial skills. A lot of employees have tunnel vision and do not realize there are opportunities to consider elsewhere.

Pros

- Young company and there are opportunities for growth - Research team is incredibly smart and intelligent - People are very friendly and helpful. Coworkers go above and beyond to help out fellow researchers. - Researchers work on projects across a variety of industry. Constant opportunity to expand your knowledge and skill set - Activities involving employees are organized regularly (field day, community services, happy hours etc.) - Some professional development training programs and workshops are available - Some flexibility in terms of work hours. Generally projects are assigned for a set number of days and if you manage your time well, there is a good work-life balance. - Some flexibility in terms of working remotely. - 18 days of PTO is not bad and it accrues as well.

Cons

- base salary for researchers is relative low - no bonuses or overtime compensation - retaining top talents is sort of an issue and is mostly because of low salaries

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your time at Hanover. Our co-workers are really remarkable and are true representatives of Hanover's service driven culture, including service to each other. I am glad that you are benefiting from the additional training opportunities and encourage you to bring non-Hanover training opportunities to your manager. We do consider external training on a case by case basis if there is a business or client need for the skill and if it can be shared internally thereafter. We are looking at our compensation bands and making adjustments so that our salaries are competitive in the DC Metro area. Thank you again for sharing your feedback.
