Pros

Harley takes the time to put all new associates through very detailed orienation, They really want you to know the business in and out and to make sure you are a good fit, went through interviews with people who i would be replacing as they were moving to another department or job function. Spent almost two weeks in classroom training learning and getting a sense of the company values and goals, Very nice job. Explained job expectations and image that just the name Harley Davidson stood for. Really spent time endoctinating your to the life style of being part of such an organization and making you feel like part of the team.

Cons

For me it was a long drive, i drove over 75 miles one way. The two unions in the plant was a little confusing to me, and the selection process into which one you would be in.

Pros

Great product--everyone can related to HD products and services..., Great people to work with-- everyone has a passion for HD product, most people ride, and most employees have fun hobbies and interests. They are interesting people with a zest for lift., Good benefits-- HD values its employees and offers competitive benefits with a focus on employee health. Stability. Good corporate culture that respects its employees as its competitive advantage. While HD does not do the right things in all cases for the employees, they are committed to continuous improvement. Harley-Davidson offers great opportunities to get involved. You feel very empowered. The challenge is to not be taken advantage of.

Cons

Difficult to advance your career if you don't have a degree from the right school. The pay is not as good as comparable companies. Work life balance is difficult and they don't support telecommuting.
