Pros

An incredible backlist in all divisions; smart, energetic, collegial employees that thrive on team work. Being part of News Corporation is also an incredible asset.

Cons

Truly creative visionary mangers that are not allowed to flex their strategic ideas. There are many numbers twos and threes that are asked to function within the philosophy of "this is how we do it".

Pros

It's a wonderful publishing company.

Cons

It's undergoing quite a few changes, which can make for an unsettling ride. Also, there aren't a ton of opportunities for junior employees to be promoted--many people find they have to switch companies within the publishing industry in order to get ahead.

Pros

Getting your foot in the door when it comes to the publishing sector. It isn't really a place to work if you are looking for advances within the financial sector. Either corp finance or general finance helps with honing skills but it doesn't help if you have no general interest in the publishing sector

Cons

Lack of the corporate feel.
