Pros

Due to the fact that an hourly employee cannot work > 28 hours/week, I have more than enough time off. This job is the ONLY job I have and for that I am grateful- at least it's a job on paper.

Cons

Management are puppets. They do what they are told, when they are told, and how they are told to do by corporate. The staffing is woefully inadequate on most days... no baggers except on weekends, cashiers are expected to bag for one another, and when a customer walks up to check out, the cashier who's bagging for the other cashier has leave that customer to check out the customer who just walked up. It is not unusual to have to page overhead for help from other depts. to help at the front end thus leaving their customers... Cashiers are expected to retrieve carts from the parking lot, do floor sweeps, and cleaning chores. If they would hire the "youngins" 16,17 yr olds as baggers, they could be doing these chores when they aren't bagging and doing take-outs

Pros

I had chosen to work at this store for it's : commute (short drive), location (nice area), and for it's part time opportunities.

Cons

Inflexible scheduling, their time off policies (part timers have to accumulate 1,000 hours in order to receive a vacation), break periods (on a crazy busy shift 15 minutes isn't enough), too many managers (at least in the front end dept.), not enough employees (in order to spread out the shifts/hours), and their internet site (for associates) is a pain in the neck to work with (when sending requests for schedule changes etc.) The Uniforms (polo type shirts/ are paid for by taking it out of your paycheck) instead of just paying for it (out of pocket) up front.
