      Pros

      Intently involved senior management, great compensation, above average benefits, growing company, customer oriented, high end retailer, fair and balanced process concerning promotions

      Cons

      Harris Teeter is overall a great company however it is retail management and it is expected for management to work 60 plus hours a week.

      Pros

      Harris Teeter pays very well in the Charlotte, NC market because they're headquarters are there. I made 10/ hour starting with no previous cashier experience.

      Cons

      Long hours standing in one spot, my store was a smaller store that they would send newly hired store managers to run. So basically every month or so we would have a totally new management team, it was hard to work with so many new managers. They take voids too seriously! Even if a customer is buying an item and changes their mind (we would void it on the register) I would get in trouble for it...

      Pros

      Cashiers start at $10.00 which is the best start out pay for cashiers in the area. I've worked for Harris Teeter for exactly one year, and in that year I have been bumped up 3 times so there are chances to move up. Most of my co-workers are fun to work with and managers are pretty connected with their subordinates. Part time has a lot of freedom with taking days off. As long as you put it in the system two weeks before the day you want off, you will get it off no problem.

      Cons

      It gets really busy some times, to the point where management has to get on register to help out.
