Pros

- If you are part time, you have a lot of flexibility with your schedule, so if you are a student or have other obligations, this is a definite plus. However, in most cases you are TOO part time, and are left crying for hours. There is actually a cap in place on part time hours, which is even going DOWN to no more than 28 hours a week. At $8 an hour, you do the math. Unless you are in high school, I'm not sure how HT expects you to be able to live on such a small paycheck. - However, if management does notice you are a good worker, you'll get more hours, and they are often accomodating if you really need them. BUT! If you prove yourself to be a GREAT worker they'll work you to death. Good for paychecks, bad for work/life balance. - Sometimes good performance is recognized, but feedback is mostly negative or neutral if given at all. -Paid weekly. -Profit sharing checks twice a year. -Excellent focus on great customer service.

Cons

- Store management is often too busy and stressed out about "audits" that only affect them to pay enough attention to their workers. - Raises based on merit or performance are nonexistant. We all got a 15 cent cost-of-living increase, but I work my butt off, have customer complements all the time, am cross-trained in several departments, actively seek out and take on responsibilities, and I am told "Gee, wish we could!" when I ask for a raise. -There are very few full time positions, and it is exceptionally difficult to be promoted to full time if you are part-time. "Gee, wish we could!" -"Promotions" given seemingly at random. -If you don't stand up for yourself, they will walk all over you. -Benefits are offered for part time, but they are kind of terrible. -Often, we are told we have to "cut hours" and have on occasion been pretty much forced to go home mid-shift.

Pros

Over the job is pretty easy and the pay is moderate. Two bonuses a year is pretty nice too.

Cons

When you move up form inside the company they pay you less that people from outside. People are not always promoted based on performance. Was overlooked for several promotion for people who had already be department managers and stepped down.

Pros

wonderful co-workers holiday atmosphere (during the seasons) pride in workmanship supports school systems via vic-card pharmacy is above par good meats

Cons

I have worked for 5 yrs at my harris teeter and sadly its management has done nothing but go down hill fast. then they wonder why moral is low. then they do their lovely little "verbal" counceling sessions to remind you that if your attitude doesnt change they will have no problems making sure your dismisal will not let you even earn unemployment. They tell us to learn our neighborhoods, but they dont give a wit about our input or advice to up sales. Nor do they care about the "working Family" when half the family is one of their own employees.
