Pros

The management at my store is very communicative and understanding, they treat all employees with consideration and respect. They are very willing to work with you on hours and times you need off. The store managers don't consider themselves too good to do work in the store. You will often see them stocking shelves, bagging, ringing people up, or otherwise helping departments that need an extra hand.

Cons

They have been squeezing out the full time positions. If someone who is full time quits, they replace them with one or two part timers. I honestly don't see myself being able to get a full time position unless I stay for several years and aim for management, which isn't something I see myself doing.

Pros

Good benefits and compensation. Co-workers are really friendly. There is plenty of opportunities for advancement. Most locations are understanding of time off requests. I think it really depends on the store management.

Cons

Hours are often cut, so if you are hired to work in one department, be prepared to be able to work in 3 different departments to get the hours you need. Some of the store management does not have the employee's best interest at heart and the morale in some locations is almost non-existent.

Pros

Pay starts off higher than minimum. They offer bonuses every 6 months but its determined on how much you work. Raises offered each May.

Cons

As of now, there are rumors that we will not receive any more bonus checks for part time. Only full time employees will receive bonuses. The previous pay raise for ALL EMPLOYEES was $0.15 which was pathetic. Previous raises were $0.30 in 2008, $0.20 in 2009, and now $0.15 in 2010. So the trend is it keeps decreasing, probably soon to nothing. every manager i have had the pleasure of coming in comtact with is disrespectful to lower position employees (Cashiers and Baggers). Customer Service managers all seem mean and it a hassle getting time off and getting your schedule the way you want it.
