Pros

If you are in sales it's a great place to be, there is lots of opportunity especially if you are willing to relocate.

Cons

There is a lack of communications between sales/engineering/manufacturing. Although I'm sure it's the same at most manufacturing companies.

A pretty building full of soldiers.

Pros

Nice building. Yet, if you were a client, you'd think you were paying too much for their furniture as the building is over-the-top. There are a few good people (soldiers) who work there.

Cons

Many of the exec. leaders are looking for "yes men". They are not seeking creative thought/strategy or ideas. It's "do what I say and don't think" mentality. They want soldiers who will take orders. Period. Too bad. The damage being done by the VPs today will have an impact for many years to come. Show up. Blow smoke. Say Yes. Keep your job. Many poor -to-average Haworth managers are thriving because they do that. They are happy and the VPs are happy. Everyone else isn't. If you want to be a soldier and be pushed to extremes, worked to the bone, and appreciated very little, go to Haworth. If you want to be creative, grow, develop and contribute in meaningful ways, go elsewhere. Yes they are international -- but that means very little in the day to day there. Very few travel abroad. Except the VPs and a few chosen few.

Pros

Work-life balance if you take charge; reward hardworking people; very financially stable company; very low infighting; good people on the whole; very nice HQ building to work in; Some great mentors who see beyond Haworth's four walls; Good opportunities for advancement, but only if you're a man.

Cons

Management is risk-averse and some are incapable of spending money; Design team/products are slow to market and well behind competitors; general lack of innovation; company hasn't grown marketshare in like 20 years; lots of B-level talent that just fill seats; the open-plan office environment is so annoying because you can't have a private conversation or are bothered by others; Company has a lot of older folks that have been there 25+ years which stifles creativity, productivity, and career advancement; Low opportunities to travel and learn from external workshops/groups.
