Not what it seems at first

Pros

Decent work/life balance, however your time off wont feel like it's enough with the work load. Other clinicians are absolutely some of the best I've ever worked with, unfortunately you wont be spending time with them or getting to know them much outside of the forced meetings that there are 3 a week some weeks.

Cons

Intense meetings and micromanaging. You'll have all notes reviewed and told how to do notes as a licensed clinician according to somebody who is not a therapist and if you don't comply they will write you up. Will probably be laid off on a whim of the CEO and other 3 letter members. When that happens nobody will know, they'll lie about it in the news and call you "content creators" and then tell your clients "your therapist had a personal emergency" so that nobody knows they forced people to abandon over 500 clients in a layoff, which is hard to justify when we work with suicidal members, members in the queer community etc. This company was really good when it was Ginger, the merger really messed up the priorities here and while benefits are good, they've been getting cut every single quarter to prioritize money to pay for the CEOs 700k a year salary.

Pros

Authentic, smart leaders looking to solve mental heath challenges / the crisis not only in the short term, but long-term. The most sincere, mission driven CEO - Russ is incredible. He listens. He has a clear vision, and he genuinely cares about making a positive impact. The people - from clinical to marketing and client success, we have a team of smart, driven people who do the right thing, and are committed to continuous improvement. Not afraid to take risks or make mistakes as an org, and employees feel that too - there is permission to fail with ideas. Work life balance is real here - when I returned to work after both my first and second baby, I was given total flexibility and had my children on zoom. There was no judgement and no pressure, only support (top down).

Cons

Org was slow to streamline workflows and teams post merger (including doing the tough thing with layoffs), and we are feeling some of the effects of that. Fast growing company and fast growing/innovative solution - this means the strategy, the solution, the comms, etc. are all evolving quickly and there is not as much "getting comfortable". We also need support with prioritization - the org is tackling so much at once. Since Covid it's a mostly remote workplace - we have offices in SF and Santa Monica, but the majority of the org works remotely. While the total flexibility is nice, miss seeing teams in person and the camaraderie.

Pros

Benefits, colleague , remote work, that’s about it.

Cons

Leadership, poor budgeting leading to two rounds of layoffs. Discrimination, false DEIB representation, no structure in communication. Many leaders don’t care about their employees and are all about the money.
