Transitioning culture is a hit or miss

Pros

Some managers are incredibly supportive of the effort to move software practices into the 21st century. If your manager is one such, you have a lot of opportunity to help define the technology stack of your upcoming project. In general, everyone up to C-level management is supportive of innovation and modernization. Top-notch benefits.

Cons

There are a nontrivial number of engineers (and managers) who want to continue building software using the same tech stack and engineering process that they were using in 2007. Their reactions range from dismissive to condescending when confronted about modernization. This ranges from using modern technologies like spring-boot to using modern development practices like code reviews and version control.

Great team environment, everyone is kind and friendly

Cons

Parking is terrible, especially if you get called in later in your shift

Thriving company, great place to work

Pros

The support received from upper management, the space I was given to work independently, tools available for you to do your work, pay, benefits are great!

Cons

lack of professionalism found throughout the department employees, HR needs to be stricter when it comes to employees using work hours to take care of personal business, many employees waste valuable work hours, too much gossip and "not my job" attitude, rules did not apply to everyone across the board
