Pros

Good people to work with.

Cons

They are way behind in compensation to employees, especially part-time and temporary workers, compared to other companies in the publishing field. And when an increase is requested after more than 5 years at the same rate, it's denied with a qualifier that it's not their policy.

Pros

My experience at Hearst has been pretty neutral. With the union contract becoming ratified for the first time, I was about to get a pay raise so that's been better. Other than that, haven't had much BS to deal with

Cons

The social aspect of the work culture is not very friendly. People are perfectly polite but beyond that, not interested in interacting.
