What a joke this mine is. Management's insecurity and need to be liked creates an atmosphere where mine engineers are only allowed to make them look good, not improve the mine. Little to no professional development, no career path, just a complete lack of competent management and career progression. There is a huge good'ol boys club at this company, which includes HR, so don't expect any help when they cancel your vacation or take a project away because it shines to much light on the underling engineers. Here a great one, they give you an interim promotion because they pissed someone off above you, no pay increase though. Then demote you when they hire someone else for a higher salary, even if it's years after the interim promotion. Didn't happen to me but saw it a few times. This is a garbage company that can only promote (if they ever do) the worst because anyone else with ANY other option jumps ship. Usually they hire in delinquent management that failed at other companies. Don't come to lucky friday thinking you will get any career development, mentorship, or company loyalty unless you lick some boot and play David vs Goliath politics. Absolutely zero accountability for the higher up management. They are basically given a blank checkbook from corporate and are so understaffed (improperly staffed) and over funded that some outrageous things get approved and over funded. Absolutely astronomical the amount of investor money that is egregiously wasted at this company with no oversight. Check out the CEO Phil Baker's past, this guy is not shy of doing shady, horrible, immoral things to benefit his, and a few select others', bottom line at the cost of society and his workers. There is a reason Montana will not allow this company to operate mines in their state as long as Baker is in control. Just suggesting, do some research and know who you are working for here.
