Pros

The mission of the company is motivating, and the culture is diverse and inclusive. It is for the most part a fun environment.

Cons

There are no perks to being a salaried supervisor at Helion. No bonus, no shift differential for night shift. Health benefits are mediocre at best. Being free to the employee doesn't equate to good insurance.

Pros

The mission is motivating. The vast majority of my coworkers are impressive and fun to work with. Helion moves quickly and is far ahead of most other fusion startups. The culture is positive. People work hard because they care, not because their boss is making them.

Cons

Goals and timelines can feel arbitrary and overly ambitious. The media hype machine clashes with the sterile scientific reporting I prefer. Moving fast can sometimes mean flexibility of hours and plans changing quickly. Formal processes are taking shape slower than the company is growing.
