      Pros

      Amazing teammates at all levels - from individual contributors to the CEO. Amazing problem space that is on the path to change humanity. Well funded, great salary and great perks. Leadership that gets you excited and motivated to change the world.

      Cons

      There are a lot of meetings and discussion where sometimes we need a little less conversation and a little more action.

      Pros

      Helix is an amazing, mission-driven company. Very well backed (just raised another $200M from top-tier investors) and has the full support of Illumina, the market leader in genomics. Innovative platform model that is very differentiated from anyone else - ultimately positioned well to win because of its ability to work with dozens of partners to attack different markets. Great people and culture - collaborative, no politics. Management is committed to the well-being of people and provides great benefits. 3 months of parental leave (for both new dads and moms) is amazing for a startup and shows that they walk the walk, as people actually take their full leave with strong support.

      Cons

      People get entitled easily in Silicon Valley, and we're not wholly immune. It is annoying when you hear people complain about little things and forget how lucky we are to have this opportunity.

      Pros

      What I like about coming to work everyday is that I get to work with people that are smart, want to collaborate and are committed to Helix's mission and the success of the company. We understand that we are breaking ground in a new space and it makes for a challenging and motivating environment.

      Cons

      We're a start up! It comes with some ups and downs (testing out processes, trial and error) but it's fun to be a part of something new, where we get to really contribute and make decisions.
