Great Culture During COVID Boost, but Not Great After

* Some interesting DS problems * Excellent Tech Stack * Mostly intelligent and amiable colleagues and stakeholders * Discounts on products * HelloFresh portfolio thrived during COVID lockdown and a few years after, and culture was nice. * Nice pace; more than 40 hours per week was rare

Cons

* Demand for products started declining in late 2023 and continued. This created unreasonable pressure on the Data Science and Data Engineering teams, among other teams. * Hybrid Policy enforced in late 2023 with 2.5 days office per week required. * Some employees exempt from Hybrid Policy, majority were not. * Round of layoffs/forcing employees out in Spring 2025 (and a few more). * Not many opportunities for career growth in the DS/DE cohorts.

Cons

Rapid growth means frequent changes—sometimes leads to shifting priorities and tech debt. Workload can spike during peak seasons or major product launches. Some legacy systems still in transition to more scalable architectures.
