Pros

My bosses are compassionate. They have gone out of there way to make accommodations for me to do my job. . I’m well compensated for the work I do. I feel valued and valuable. There is a culture of diversity, inclusion, and learning to expand these practices. The generosity programs hooked me during my interview. Helmer believes in giving back to the community. There is always opportunities for overtime.

Cons

Sometimes things feel disorganized, or hectic when faced with change or challenges. Unfortunately there is always a need for people to work overtime.

Pros

Helmer is the best business I have worked for. Helmer typically did many post/during work activities through their generosity programs. During the pandemic, they have done less due to wanting to keep everyone safe. Helmer has also been steadily growing since becoming a business so there is great job security and room to grow your own skill sets.

Cons

The downside to this rapid growth is that right now a good portion of positions work overtime. While yes, the money is good, someone like myself will work more than 40 hours a week. At the beginning of this year I personally was working 57-65 hours a week. If you are not prepared to work that much, Helmer may not be for you. Helmer also has very strict guidelines for quality and productivity and consistently tell everyone to stay safe while doing so, in all, it is an intensive if not stressful experience.

Thank you for your comments. We believe in spreading a culture of generosity at Helmer. Although we were not able to volunteer with nonprofits during the pandemic, we found other ways to engage and give back. Yes, we did operate on most Fridays during the pandemic to meet our customers’ needs. With that growth came a lot of development opportunities for our employees.
