Pros

Excellent training as an entry to the business world. Excellent training in selling, reading financial statements and learning to think like a business owner. Instills an excellent work ethic, in case you need help with that. You will work extremely hard for extremely low salaries.

Cons

False promises again and again. They will promise you money (salary, bonuses) and once your in the position, take it away. Just because you think your profitable on a monthly basis, doesn't you will get a bonus. Hertz has amazing accounting categories that take thousands away from your bottom line on a consistent basis. Likewise, just because your promoted and given a starting salary to get you in the position, doesn't mean that is what you will be paid. Time and time again, I have been promised a certain starting salary or raise, and then suddenly had the salary lowered as soon as I hit the goal or started a new position. There is little to no support from management. I was lucky to work for an excellent manager in the beginning. However, currently I work for a sleaze area manager. Definately makes things difficult in trying to get any help with running my branch. With that said, their is the constant worry from being laid off. If your not profitable and landing new accounts, good luck. Also if you lose and account, which Hertz will tell you to get rid of them. (You can always find new ones). Your job will be in danger. How do you get new business? With zero marketing fund, either take from your very small pay check or get another job, to help pay for marketing. Bottom line, you just can't compete with Enterprises marketing techniques or their staff. Hence, the constant fear of being laid off. As for staffing, you will work your behind off for pennies. Anyone with any time, is very nice, but yet hard at the same time. People tend to get that way after being screwed over consistently. As for the new recruits, they always start out hopeful. No one tells them the truth. However, out with the old and in with the new works great for this company, as the new recruits are clueless as to the realities of Hertz. Watch your back. Everything on this site regarding anyone with any time in this company is true. I would be wary working for Hertz again. I honestly hated it since day one, but kept trying to talk myself into gratitude. I still hate it today. Grateful to have a job, but for a college degree, I think I could do better. While marketing, an account who used to work for Hertz, told me Hertz hurts. Couldn't have said it better myself. If you don't believe me, read all the other posts about anyone with some time with the company. It's all true.

Pros

Staff are dedicated. Great people to work with.

Cons

No balance of personal and professional life. Constant sense of urgency. Too much time spent handling the latest senior management request rather than managing the business.
