Pros

Inclusive environment, global community, very supportive workplace, and great growth opportunities. I love my team and my manager, and the work environment is very flexible.

Cons

Because we are growing so fast, there is a lot to do, but my manager is very supportive.

Pros

The pros of this program are the opportunity to learn from different business units and gain new skills. . You get early access to internal networks and leadership, making it easier to explore opportunities and secure a solid final placement.

Cons

The program puts way too much emphasis on things that have little to do with your actual job. A large portion of your performance goals is tied to “ambassadorship,” which basically means posting on LinkedIn, promoting the program, and attending recruiting events. At times it feels like you were hired as a marketing rep, not an engineer. For example, being expected to post regularly (around 6 times a year) just comes off as forced and inauthentic—this should be optional, not something you’re evaluated on. I belive its unfair our performance goals are tied to such elementary action items. There is also a mandatory “Learning Journey” halfway through the program with weekly meetings, reflections, and group exercises on basic topics like growth mindset and feedback. While the ideas aren’t bad, the content often feels repetitive and overly simplistic, especially if you already have some level of professional maturity. Overall, the extra requirements feel like busywork that takes time away from actually learning your role, while also pushing you to maintain a public professional persona that not everyone wants. It is not stated when you get hired but you will have a mandatory factory placement. Meaning working in a Hitachi Energy Factory Location (which are in the middle of nowhere for 6 months. There will be chance you will be posted at this location alone, which can be very mentally draining as this is not something you would prefer to do. The rotations themselves are often not very challenging, and because you’re only in each role for a short time, managers don’t consistently give you meaningful ownership or accountability over larger projects. It can feel like you’re there to support ongoing work rather than truly learn or develop deep skills. As a result, your growth isn’t always prioritized, and it’s difficult to build real expertise or make a significant impact within such a limited timeframe.

Pros

Our program is so unique due to the opportunity you get to explore what feels like an unlimited list of rotations. You are exposed to any business unit you're interested in, with the ability to spend 6 months abroad learning a completely different culture and work environment. This is also a great way to network through the company and build valuable relationships for your full-time role post Power+.

Cons

You'll wish the program was longer.
