Poor/Weak Management - Whilst there are great people who work hard, management are somewhat apathetic to the cold, hard realities that face them in creating a highly professional and effective organisation. Needing consultants and advisors are indicators that management are struggling to shape the company.
They rarely acknowledge their staffs contributions. There is no doubt that it's a changeable organisation and they want people who can change with it. However, they do not "explain the change" or engage people towards it therefore making people feeling that it's all happening around them and not necessarily for their benefit.
Office culture - inclusion for some, nothing for others. If you are in the "in crowd" then expect to be included and assisted, if not, then prepare to keep banging your head against a brick wall with no-one courageous enough to risk their career to unblock/tackle organisational blockers.
Don't speak your mind - it's pretty much career suicide! although they will tell you this is what they want you to do...
Company Values - the harmony, pioneering spirit and sincerity is only for the chosen few, don't expect your contribution towards it to be acknowledged/valued or reciprocated in any way, shape or form. There is no "One Team" mentality here and if there is, it's only really for the chosen few.
Work Practices/Processes: Processes are very weak. People work diligently and try their best, but real improvement seems miles away...
Career Pathing - Again, if you found yourself not being included in anything - there is a reason, you don't have much of a career path with the company - probably best to start looking for another job or wait until someone decides they don't want you around.
Roles/Responsibilities - they offer roles without thinking about how they will work with others, so try not to be surprised if you are doing the same tasks as 5 other people and even then don't be surprised to find that someone else is doing the same role as you are in another department because they have not thought it through.
