Pros

Loose management, u can coast whatever u want if u have good relationship with the manager (only applicable to Chinese employee, sorry SG folks).

Cons

Toxic culture, a typical Chinese 996 firm; Top-down with no visibility at all; The management team at SG has no experience at all; they have no capability but wanna micro management. No respect to local employees and culture

Pros

(If allowed to) You are working on titles beloved by many around the world.

Cons

It is a lot of lip service, without a lot of actual implementation, all to keep up with the impression that they are a global company when fundamentally they are still a Chinese company through and through. If you're not Chinese based in mainland China (or with specfiic experience), you can forget about being given projects that actually impacts the business, having management-level decision making opportunities, or even getting promoted. The team in China is fear of losing power, and will do everything they can to gatekeep critical information so they retain decision making power. Meetings are conducted in Chinese, and English is an afterthought - for example, to create the illusion of involvement, they may hold an English meeting for global members, but quickly chase them out so they can continue with the meeting in Chinese, which is much more in-depth and meaningful. There's zero incentive to change (the global president, is all but a figurehead), because they firmly believe their way of work is superior, and it is the Chinese team that made Genshin Impact successful. Forget about global concepts like DEI, work-life balance because there's none (just because they talk about it does not mean it is actually practiced.) Good luck engaging their whistleblowing team, because the Chinese-rootedness of the organization means that these guys are, at the end more worried about the retaliation they may face than to be impartial. Do yourself a a favor and look at their team members on LinkedIn and count the number of people they bring in from Chinese companies the likes of Tencent, Alibaba. Take note of how many people actually hold high-level executive power overseas. Do ample research and hold off that desire to join just because they have great game titles.

Pros

Can speak Chinese only . Most leaders of team are from China

Cons

Team Atmosphere: The company is led by Chinese executives, and office politics are quite severe, resembling the culture found in Chinese state-owned enterprises. Technology: There's a lack of innovation in internal technology, and problems often go unresolved as leaders within their respective factions tend to cover up for each other. Team Communication: Communication within the team is particularly difficult, with team members often ending up in arguments during discussions. Corporate Culture: The company culture encourages frankness, which ultimately leads to employees speaking without much consideration. Company Business: The company's business in Singapore is not in the gaming industry; it only has a payment business and a data platform team from China. There are significant conflicts between these two teams, along with issues in their business cooperation.
