Pros

The pay is good. You get a choice of apron, vest or polo shirt. Health benefits at 45 days.

Cons

If you want to work in a truly artistic and creative atmosphere, this is NOT the place to work. Ultra conservative, a very un-relaxed atmosphere, and the feeling that you're always on the chopping block. Christian Muzak with very little variety piped in all day long.

Pros

Flexible hours, pretty easy, hourly wage is slightly better than some companies, time off whenever, small holiday bonus

Cons

Rude customers, no benefits for part time, sometimes work full time hours but no full time benefits or salary, must clock out and in for lunch, only one paid break, no human resources to speak of

Pros

The people that you get to work with are great, and they help the time pass by faster. The managers were easy-going and would always work with me with scheduling conflicts. Working in a hobby store, you learn how to do and make some really neat things. Sunday is a guaranteed day off.

Cons

I'm sure that this is true for most companies, but i hardly had any holidays off, being a part-time employee of the company they are not required to pay anything other than your base hourly wages on holidays. I worked on thanksgiving, new-year's eve--and day--Christmas. Their customers are constantly asking the cashiers where certain products were located, but they have little to no knowledge of the store's layout because they have to 'stay at the front.' Customers that get frisky because their product was 'not on sale and there was a sign that said it was'-- The district manager was a pain in the butt too.
