Pros

Great discount on merchandise Can promote quickly Every Sunday off with every other weekend off

Cons

No work-life balance Very little use of technology Still stuck in the past in regards to stocking/unloading merchandise Too much time wasted in stocking because majority of freight comes in repack boxes, not separated. You must separate EVERYTHING that comes in. So, it takes that much longer to stock salesfloor. So inefficient and unproductive in how the store gets stocked. Having to work 8am-close and be back at 8am the next day.

Pros

Genuine care from managers at all levels All employees care for one another and help each other Loving customers Encourages and requires hard work which is good for our souls and bodies- (no need to pay extra for the gym :-)) Christ honoring company who hires employees of all backgrounds and does their best to invest in the lives of employees Employees are more than just a number here

Cons

When applying, realize the managers are all hands-on. They work harder than all employees. They might not have time to look at online resumes. Best to show up in person so they know you are truly interested. Cost of living in Bluffton/Hilton Head Island has gone up so much in the last couple of years that employees who want to continue working here have a hard time making enough to pay for basic necessities of life, such as food & mortgage/rent. But Hobby Lobby already pays in the top possible for retailers. Can only provide from profits, because unlike our government, they can't just print more inflation increasing money that's made life unaffordable for hard workers in many companies. Managers might benefit from outside consultants who can help them see potential blindspots, so they can communicate their value even better to ideal customers and hard working employees. They never give up on employees, even those who might struggle in their jobs. They will continue to invest, trying to help their employees, even when sometimes, hurts customer experience. The management team's love and sacrificial life could use some balance, so they don't have to work so many hours. They need our love, prayers and encouragement.
