Pros

Decent pay... much higher minimum wage than most companies. Nice co-workers Consistancy in the way in which things are done in the store(such as labeling, cleaning, etc.). I WILL say that across the board ALL of the managers worked hard an wouldn't tell any employee do anything that they wouldn't do themselves, and would work alongside everyone.

Cons

Some of the merchandise was embarrassingly cheap. Some of the merch. was decent quality, but some of it was so cheap that things would literally crumble in my hand! -Dishonesty... :( I had high hopes for Hobby Lobby being one of my favorite places to work, and their lack of morals kind of ruined it for me...there were times that I was told to keep quiet about the merchandise we were about to give to customers just to that they could make a dollar...there were times that things that could affect a person's health could were sent home with customers on a regular basis and it took the managemnt above our store months to actually do research to figure out what the problem was, because before then he had given us a statement on what seemed like was purely conjecture. Also, Hobby Lobby is a Christian company and makes it well known, and makes it a point to let that be known, one of the major ways being that they're never open on Sundays so that they're free to worship and spend time with their families. This sounds fantastic, but I recall hearing of a particular store set where the employees worked three weeks straight, twelve-hour shifts, with no day off, except for ONE sunday that someone had to beg for everyone to get off...come on people! that's no way to treat the employees you value so much! -Our store manager was MEAN, and there really isn't anything that can be done or said about it. I'm not just complaining either...there were some employees that she never uttered a word to, I'm serious, unless she was giving orders...not a ''hi", no "good morning", no "how's your broken leg?", etc. She would discriminate based on her religous beliefs, and withold pay, promotion and hours to people who's lifestyles she didn't agree with. She had a few favorite employees that she treated like gold, and everyone else was pretty much expendable in her eyes. One would think that if some people were doing well then maybe she wasn't that bad, however, when doing a store set in another state, NOBODY wanted to work with her. She was just as mean to them as she was at her own store, and nothing has been done about it. I could go on and on, but to keep this review from being too lengthy, I'll stop.

Pros

Loved working around the products, selling to customers, hearing about their projects.

Cons

We worked so hard to set up the new store the grand opening. Gave up other opportunities. We worked hard to make presentable for the owner visit, then no hours. First it was down to 24 hours in 4 hours shifts. Worked every Saturday for 8 weeks, then 12 hours, then 8 hours. Imagine going to check your hours and finding 0 hours.

Pros

Great company to work for, easy to advance, work can be fun.

Cons

The hours they expect out of the Co Managers is too much. I was drawn to Hobby Lobby because of their Christian values, which I admire and respect. Unfortunately, I was working 60+ hours a week, and did not have the time to spend with my family. This put a big strain on my family life, therefore I had to quit. I would still be working for them had I had a schedule of 45 hrs. This is the only downfall of the company that I experienced. Although we got every Sunday off, I was too tired to do anything.
