Pros

Hofstra is a melting pot for students, administrators, and faculty from all different walks of life. With 140 different major programs for students to choose from, employees interact with a plethora of different experiences on a daily basis. This free exchange of knowledge and ideas make the University an exceptional environment to foster creative thinking and innovation for all individuals.

Cons

Low compensation rate for Graduate Assistants (highest annual stipend amounts to $2,000) Student employees paid federal minimum wage, low chance for increasing that salary.

Pros

Great benefits- especially vacation days Nice office space Flexible schedule

Cons

Oftentimes institution has a reactive instead of proactive approach to things Feel like the institution is run like a business instead of an institution of learning Culture is very interesting- people trying to one up each other all the time and a lot of gossiping Pay and raises could definitely improve- very low

Pros

Generally supportive office working environment that appreciates the successes of employees. Up-to-date technology, comfortable working environment, and good intra- and inter-office rapport.

Cons

Coworkers will occasionally 'tattle' on other employees instead of addressing a problem or complaint directly. Lots of gossip and in-group versus out-group dynamic affect employee interaction. Lack of parking.
