Pros

Awesome pay and worked with some amazing people.

Cons

They don't support their own team. Everyone is siloed. Management doesn't train, educate, or equip the people beneath them. Holder says one thing and does another. Very few of the aspects of the culture they claim to strive for are actually true. The job sites are chaotic. Coordination and communication are poor amongst the team. There's a culture of just throwing people into the deep end and expecting them to swim on their own. And you won't have a life outside of work. The job, the client, and the schedule are everything. You are nothing, and you're easily replaceable. I saw 11 people leave Holder in my first 11 months--all from the same jobsite.

Pros

I currently work for Holder Construction, and it is the best place I have ever worked. And I am 58 years old. The workday varies depending on what site you are on and who you work with but our Engineers never work weekends and usually get here around 7:00 - 7:30 and leave around 6:00. However, there are many days that folks have personal reasons to leave early say 3:00 till and nothing is ever said. There is a great work/life balance. You start off with 3 weeks PTO with 4 floating holidays. So basically around 4 weeks PTO. Our field workers rotate working weekends if it is necessary. They provide so many training opportunities, the pay is wonderful with yearly cost of living rises every June, great medical benefits, etc. and the retirement is pretty awesome. You can start contributing after 6 months of employment. I never have an issue requesting or getting approval for PTO. The culture here is like none I have ever experienced. Everyone across the country is willing to help with whatever I need. Everyone is nice. In my experience. I hope this helps and I hope to meet anyone that takes an offer from Holder at our yearly Connect Event in Atlanta.

Cons

The only con I have is that I didn't find this company sooner
