Pros

I enjoyed my time at Holman very much. They had grown into a larger corporate structure out of what felt like a family atmosphere, and I got the chance to experience that family vibe. My managers were caring and thoughtful, and my work was challenging and interesting. I feel my managers were fair, and I was paid well.

Cons

As a web developer, I worked for the corporate offices out of a dealership, so I wasn't involved in the operations of car sales day to day. The cons I would say were dealing with the less-than-admirable qualities of the sales and service people who worked there. Here are two examples: I had a flat tire and needed it plugged. As an employee, I thought they'd help me out for a reasonable fee. But instead, they lied to my face repeatably about the need to buy two new tires, giving me some ridiculous story about wear and tear and sand, etc. That left a bad taste in my mouth. I told them to plug the damn thing. The second story: I once heard an alarm sounding in the corporate offices and I didn't know what to do or who to talk to. So I found a manager in the dealership and let him know there was an alarm going off. His response was forceful and curt, "What do I care?!" Roger that. Here's a third story to boot - I once wanted to buy a car. As an employee, we get an automatic discount on vehicles. But I realized that I would be willing and able to negotiate an even better deal. After trying to buy a car and letting them know I didn't want my employee discount, they made a huge fuss over it and then simply denied me a deal outside of my employee discount. So I bought a car somewhere else.
