Pros

- Brilliant management - Excellent pay - Friendly and nice staff in hr, care management and reception.

Cons

The only con is some of the staff in the scheduling department. They are nothing but sneers and these are people in their late 30s and early 40s. Very immature. Always having a laugh at the way people spoke which always made me feel uncomfortable. I always felt that they were talking about me behind my back.

Pros

Work usually 1 on 1 with client. Good support from the office with client needs and carer inquiries. Ongoing in house training and courses both online and in person. Advancing in the training course the incentive is a less than $1 higher hourly rate.

Cons

Shifts are minimum 2 hours, so sometimes only one 2 hour shift per day. Plus the client could be half an hour drive away so it's like you are working 1 hour free. They keep hiring more carers and cannot provide enough shifts for the carers they already have. KMs not reimbursed to and from clients. KMs are paid between shifts IF within one hour, but often scheduled 15 minutes over so then not reimbursed. Their in house training, although excellent, was meant to contribute RPL to Cert III in Individual Support until they changed the whole course so had to start training all over again. Franchises are separate businesses, so if you need to move, and work for another franchise, all tenure reverts to first year again. You need to start their training all over again, and need to plead to have previous training recognised even if you've been with the other franchise for years. No need for tertiary education, so other carers can be quite untrained and unprofessional, setting other carers up for failure. They gossip to clients and other carers, when you've actually followed the correct procedures. Some carers seem as if they cannot even read.
