Pros

Getting to Care for individuals is very rewarding work.

Cons

Absolutely no training, the management sits you in a room for 6 hours and shows videos about how to help someone in and out of a wheelchair. The pay is $9.25 an hour even if you have further education in Care giving. No benefits what so ever. If you speak up about another Caregiver's poor performance (even if it puts the client's health as risk) you will get reprimanded or terminated to cover themselves. Half the time if you need to get a hold of someone in an emergency or need help they are nowhere to be found. They do not treat their Caregivers with respect and anything goes as long as the client and caregiver keeps their mouth shut. I would NEVER hire Home Instead to Care for ANYONE in need, they are sloppy and endanger their clients that really need to be cared for in a responsible way.
