Pros

Working with seniors can be fulfilling. Most of the clients are nice and appreciative.

Cons

No reimbursement for mileage. Salary is poor compared to services rendered.

Pros

Great to work independently around your own hours. Great feeling leaving clients knowing you have contributed for them to live independently in their own home. Seeing your client smile when you arrive is the best feeling.

Cons

Office staff constantly leaving especially scheduling and Care Managers. Clients are also making remarks about how many new scheduling coordinators and Care managers they have had contacting them as others have left. Some carers don't last long as the job you applied to do as a care assistant turns out to be that the client only wabts a cleaner to hoover and dust only. Cleaners do not have to do so many training courses etc and get better paid.

Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

Management was prioritizing private pay clients over Medicaid and medicare clients. It was really hard to watch people who desperately needed care go without because they couldn’t afford to pay out of pocket. My schedule was constantly changed and I was asked to work weekends. Working weekends meant being in the office completely alone. Not only was that somewhat creepy, but that meant answering the phones and fielding emergencies alone, something I was wholly under paid and unqualified for. The owner was weirdly strict about dress code. This franchise seemed to be falling apart by the time I was leaving, employees were jumping ship left and right. The benefits were also bad. They paid 50% of healthcare then it increased 10% until you hit your 5 year mark.
